Prof Phillip Thomas

Phil Thomas is Chairman of SNH's Audit & Risk Management Committee.  He is Director of Artilus Ltd a multi-disciplinary consultancy he established in 1999.  He is also presently: Chairman of the Scottish Salmon Producers Association; Chairman of the Scottish Aquaculture Code of Good Practice Management Committee; a Board member of Quality Meat Scotland and Chairman of its R&D Committee; a member of the British Pig Health and Welfare Council, and a member of the Scottish Advisory Committee of Linking Environment and Farming.  He held scientific appointments at the University of Leeds, Hannah Research Institute, West of Scotland College and University of Glasgow, before serving as Principal and Chief Executive of the Scottish Agricultural College.  Phil Thomas’ appointment to the Board of QMS is a Ministerial appointment.
