Odonata Status

The Red Data List for Insects include two species found in Scotland: the Northern damselfly Coenagrion hastulatum is classed as Vulnerable, and the Northern emerald dragonfly Somatochlora arctica is classed as Rare.

There is currently only one odonate on the list of Priority Species in the Scottish Biodiversity Action Plan: the Northern damselfly Coenagrion hastulatum (see www.biodiversityscotland.gov.uk for more information).
