What can I see there?

Information on the wildlife and walks of this area is available from the Dunbeath Preservation Trust at their visitor centre in the village. Various walks are mapped, including coastal walks north and south of Dunbeath Harbour and a fine walk up Dunbeath Strath through one of the few native woods of Caithness. Yellowhammer, greenfinch, heron, kestrel, hen harrier, short-eared and tawny owls, merlin, buzzard and raven can all be seen in this area.
