Ayrshire Paths West Highland Way


There are 14 path networks and 12 cycle routes on this excellent website.

This long-distance route starts in Milngavie on the outskirts of Glasgow and takes you all the way to Fort William in the shadow of Britain's highest mountain.

River Ayr Way

Walk the river from source to sea.

Clyde Walkway

Walk from Glasgow to New Lanark on this long-distance route. It is marked on Ordnanace Survey maps.

The National Cycle Network Forth & Clyde Canal

Strathclyde & Ayrshire has many cycle routes. Contact Sustrans to find out about them.

You can walk or cycle along the towpath all the way from Glasgow to Edinburgh.
