Monitoring Land Cover Change  - Methodology

Analysis

The vector data for each time period were 'rasterised' to generate a data grid of 10m x 10m pixels (representing 0.01ha on the ground). To analyse land cover change between time periods, the data grids were electronically 'overlaid' with each other on the GIS. Data matrices were combined with stratification details and processed by statistical software to generate final output tables.
