Rights and responsibilities in the outdoors for young people
SNH has developed two educational resources to help you to teach about the Scottish Outdoor Access Code: your rights and responsibilities in the outdoors. These are available to download or order at www.outdooraccess-scotland.com/educationresources
The activities can be used as preparation for an outdoor activity to help your pupils to think about how they should behave in order to respect the interests of other people, take responsibility for their own actions and care for the environment. Some activities can be carried out on site and others are useful for consolidating or developing knowledge and understanding of rights and responsibilities in the outdoors

Scotland's Outdoors - responsibly!
Everyone has the right to be on most
land and inland water for recreation, education and for going from place
to place providing they act responsibly. These access rights and responsibilities
are explained in the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
Whether you're in the outdoors or managing the outdoors, the key things are to:
- take responsibility for your own actions
- respect the interests of other people
- care for the environment
