WireWeed

What to do if you find wireweed

If you encounter low numbers of  small specimens or unattached specimens on the beach or floating, then remove them and dispose of them in a rubbish bin. You need to be careful to remove the whole plant including the small disc-like holdfast where it is attached to the rock.

Where there are larger and more established growths of wireweed these are probably better to be  left alone, as any fronds broken off when trying to remove them could float off and cause further spread. In these circumstances it is even more important that the location is reported.
